NEXT STEPS
What happens next
01 We read it properly
A trade manager — not a call centre — reviews your enquiry and decides whether we are the right firm for it.
02 We come back with questions
Usually within one working day, with the specific things we need to price the job accurately.
03 We put a plan in writing
Indicative costings, realistic lead times and the checks we would build into the shipment.
FAQ
Questions we are asked before the first order.
Do you work with smaller importers, or only large volumes?
Both, within reason. We regularly handle single-container programmes and mixed consolidations for growing importers. Below roughly a pallet, the documentation and inspection costs usually make us the wrong choice, and we will say so.
How do you charge?
Either a disclosed percentage on the goods value or a fixed fee per consignment, agreed before we start. Freight, inspection and duty are passed through at cost with documentation. We do not take an undeclared commission from the supplier.
What if the goods do not match the specification?
That is what the pre-shipment inspection is for — problems are found and resolved while the goods are still with the supplier. On the rare occasions something slips through, the contract we drafted at the start sets out remedy and liability, and we pursue it on your behalf.
Can you source a product we have not imported before?
Yes. That is most of what we do. Give us the specification, the target landed cost and the market it is being sold into, and we will come back with a shortlist of suppliers, samples and the certification the product will need at the UK or EU border.
Who handles customs clearance?
We do, at both ends, using our own commodity code classifications and customs agents. If you would prefer to use your own broker, we will prepare the document set for them and work to their requirements.
Which markets do you buy from most often?
South and Southeast Asia, the Gulf, and East and West Africa for inbound sourcing; the EU, the Gulf and North America for outbound export. If you need a market we do not currently cover, we will tell you rather than improvise.
